MP 1,1-5,1 SSD compatibility

What SSD can I run with my 5,1, boot rom 138.0.0.0.0
Does anyone have any recommendations for a SSD. I plan on upgrading the firmware but now need a new ssd to use for the upgrade.
Not loyal to one brand but do want one that is reliable, and not wanting to use a NVME as yet.
presently running Catalina 10.15.1
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Get a cheap $30 120GB SATA SSD to upgrade your firmware and use as a rescue disk, after that you start to think about what you gonna use as your main disk, now you are limited to just SATA, with 144.0.0.0.0 can get PCIe blades with much better performance.
