Do you think there will be new SSD options, or price cuts, for the soon to be released iMac?

I don't understand why they don't give you the option for the 128gb SSD in the current lineup.

Did you even need to post in this thread if you had no viable information to provide?

I just want 32gb or 64gb ssd on board like macbook air have

And then 1 tb regular hdd for other stuff
Then it will be a godspeed imac. Ever

ssd+hdd option as standard - maybe 128gb+1tb? .. 8gb ram standard? i7 2600 ... happiness?:)

I'm curious, how does that work? If there is a 32GB SSD and a 1TB regular HDD, would I then have to manage the locations of files myself? So I would need to think about which files/applications I use most often and place those on the SSD? Or would the system automatically cache stuff from the 1TB HDD on the SSD or something like that?

Just wondering . . . . . If I get the iMac with the ssd installed, roughly how many gb's will the OS and installed apps take up on the ssd, from the factory?

thanks

Factory and self-install will use the same amount of storage space. I recently installed 10.6.3 (then combo upgrade to 10.6.7), iWork 09, and iLife 2011. I was sitting at about 11GB used space after I ran all software updates.

Oh wow !! I thought it would take up a LOT more than that !! In that case, I'm all for a smaller ssd option with a smaller upgrade price tag for the upcoming iMacs.
