Plan is for new mini with os and apps on SSD, and my Aperture files on the HD. The question also applies to iTunes and FCP, for example, or any app that can build up a large library of content.
Is it best for such apps to live on the HD, or can the app live on the SSD -- and thus take advantage of the read speed -- without the related content files being, in the Aperture word, "managed"? Would Aperture still regard its library as its own if it was placed on the HD and the app on the SSD?
Basically, for those of you that have the hybrid configuration, what is the optimal setup for apps and content?
