Hello everyone! I’m new to the community and I am trying to remedy my issue. I just purchased a Mac Mini mid 2010 for $15 that was expected to have a bad hdd but turned out it was the sata cable. I ordered a 1tb SSD Hynix gold and 16gb of ram. I updated my Mac from snow leopard that it came with to high sierra then cloned that to the SSD. After installing the SSD and ram I broke the temp sensor for the drive so the fan is running at full rpm. Not a big issue but thought I should include every detail, after installing the sata to the SSD performance wasn’t noticeable on boot and load times but it was when loading content that was almost like a flash so I didn’t really think about it. Now I kinda took a bold leap and installed Catalina and as expected some performance issues where faced but it’s very minimal. I feel as if my Mac should still be able to load things with ease regardless of cpu consumption which stays at a steady 40% used. Please bare in mind that I haven’t owned a Mac computer since the 90’s Macintosh so I had to learn everything in a week time span. Regardless my write speeds are 115.6MB/s and read is 138.7MB/s after multiple benchmark tests that was the average. At this point I am lost and can’t find a straight answer is. Oh I also purchased software for TRIM and it didn’t affect the speed of the SSD. Thank you in advance for taking the time with my issue!
