Hello,

So I have a Mac Pro 2009 model. Its the 3.33 ghz Quad-core model. I am about to purchase an SSD drive for my machine, as I want to jump on board to this type of drive hardware because many have told me that its much faster than mechanical drives(which it is).

Can I just use the SSD sled from a 2010 and put it into my 2009 to house the SSD drive? I know of Icy Dock which is cheaper, but just thought I'd ask if the SSD sled from a 2010 Mac Pro will work in the 2009 given they are the same case design?

it's the same computer, only cpu is different.

I and others just put the SSD in the second optical drive slot. It's not secured, but this superbly heavy computer isn't going anywhere fast (nor do the vibrations really matter to the drive).

Just a thought if you want to make life easier.
