I have been reading stuff about how the 13" M2 MBP 256gb SSD is much slower than the 13" M1 MBP 256gb. But the 512gb SSD is the same speed in both and much faster.

Is the 14" MBP 512gb SSD the same speed or is it faster than the 13" MBA 512gb?

I wonder if the 13" M2 MBA will have a 512gb SSD like the 13" M2 MBP?

Thank you for your reply, but it does not answer either of the 2 questions.

Faster. By quite a bit.
Okay, so the 14" M1 Pro MBP 512gb SSD is much faster than the 13" M2 MBP 512gb SSD. I have searched trying to find out the speeds of each of those two, but have not found it. Do you have a link? Thanks!

Max tech has you covered:

EXSUM: almost 100% faster :)

Edit: yes, it's against the M1 Air, but at least you can see the M1 Pro 14" numbers for yourself 😂

And 512 GB M2 MBP speed is here (also Max Tech):

Wondering if M2 MBA/MBP with 1TB option using single chip or two 512GB chips? and how fast it will be compared to M1 Pro 14” MBP with 1TB?

I've not seen any data and teardowns -
but given we're seeing almost 1-1 speeds between the M2 MBPs (515 GB and above mind you) and M1 Air/Pros the 1TB data in this article from Tom's Hardware should be a good indicator. EXSUM: no improvements compared to 256 GB M1 Air, so even the 512 GB 14" is far superior in SSD speed.

On my the 256GB drive is affected as in the M2 MBP it uses one 256GB NAND chip vs the usual two 128GB NAND chips.

Likely the M2 MBA will suffer same fate.

Anyone know the M1 Mac Mini 512gb SSD speed? I saw some figures for the M1 Mac Mini 256gb SSD and also for the Macbook Pro 512gb SSD, but I haven't seen figures for the 512gb SSD in the M1 Mac Mini.
