hi guys,
I have a Mac Pro early 2009
and i just buy new ssd - crucial 550 256GB
According to the manufacturer's instructions
read / write Around 550
but when i check it i see i'm around 250
If anyone knows what could be the cause?
Can my computer meet these data?
please advice
thanks

Your Mac Pro doesn't support SATA III, so you are limited to SATA II throughput.

The drive is a SATA III drive which supports the high speed. Your mac only has SATA II ports so can't reach the maximum speed of the drive. To get the higher speed you will have to buy a SATA III card.

sata 3 card

thanks guys for your quick replay
sata 3 card will help?

I'd love to get more info
How to do it?
What does it involve?
And whether it would lead me to utilize all the capabilities to drive
thanks

Actually you get what you pay for, the card you want is here:

From your post, I don't believe English is your first language, so I don't know where you are located. If we knew, we could give you some specific purchasing advice. The card is available at a discount in the USA.
