Hey, all.

Today I finally jailbroke or attempted to jailbreak my newly bought ATV2. All seemed to have gone smoothly with the Seas0n Pass method. At the bottom right hand corner, the FC emblem is visible just as it says it is to be on several trouble shooting websites I've visited.
When I try to ssh, I am given a connection timed out issue. This is continuing to happen no matter what I do. Suggestions? I cannot do anything until I figure this out, yes? I open up terminal on the mac just as directed, insert: ssh root@192.168.(my ip)
Each time like I said, the connection times out. I enter the password and all the following directions. Is this a known problem? How can I fix this situation? Thanks for your time and I hope I can fix this.

Okay, then. This is what I had originally done and what was still giving me the connection time out prompts after I entered this. Any other ideas?

Edit: Adding all the options to ensure I'm doing everything correctly, please stand-by.

Edit 2: I'm now in "network". I see a plethora of number sequences from the IP address with DHCP x.x.x.x, Subnet Mask, Router Address, and DNS Address. The IP is still the same as it was on the "about" screen. Is the fact that it says DHCP a problem? Somewhere on a site I read that there could be problems with this? I apologize if I'm not making much sense, I'm just grasping at straws.

----------

Apologize for this double post, too.

When I enter my ATV2's IP, do I enter it fully as I see? So, x.x.x.115? This is so embarrassing.

I think I may have got it. I finally was given another prompt and it now reads: Bedroom-Apple-TV:~ root#

Am I in the clear? What exactly do I do next?

Yep you are connected now. As for what you do next well that is up to you. SSH is usually used to install or delete files. So is there something specific you were trying to install?

Ok, so after the root# is where I then insert the lines for the likes of NitoTV, etc? NitoTV is what I'd like to install, but I'm still confused as to what exactly happens next/if I'm missing something. Thanks, again.

Yes. Of hand I do not know the command to install nitotv but if you search around you can find it. Then just cut and paste the correct command and the installer will get, run and install the package. You then reboot the atv.

But just a tip, since you are new you might want to consider just buying and installing ATV Flash Black. It will install almost everything you could want in one easy step. Yes it is true you do not need it and yes almost everything it gives you you can get and install for free, but for $30 the ease of installation and upgrades for a newbie is often well worth the frustration saved.
