Hi, recently lost my 2ed gen iPod Touch:( but my mom's old iPhone that she took for a swim magically works (aside from shutting off completly after no use for about 30 seconds)

basically, i use it as an iPod because i have verizon and dont need it as a phone. So its an iPhone, minu the connection to ATT part.

I want to jailbreak it, but im already upgraded to 3.1.3 I thought i read that i could just use pwnage tool and basically make a firmware to update to so itl jailbreak, is this right?

Also, i mainly use it for music, so will i be able to still sync my music and videos via iTunes after jailbreaking. And is there a way to reverse that jailbroken (music from iPhone to comp.)

Thanks for all the help in advance!!

Yes.

The original iPhone can have any previous firmware loaded on to it or load a jailbroken 3.1.3. :)
