I can’t believe how awful, inconsistent, and straight up broken the new iOS 16 notifications are. If I didn’t need this version for the new iPhone 14 I’d be trying to downgrade.

Former behavior when on the Lock Screen or notifications screen:

- Swiping to the right would bring you to the fullscreen widgets panel

New/broken behavior under iOS 16:

- If your notifications are in the new Stacked state, you cannot swipe to access the fullscreen widgets panel

- However, you can still access the widgets panel if your notifications are in the normal list view OR the new count view

I’m going to assume this just wasn’t tested properly (shocker). For me it’s hugely problematic because you cannot actually turn OFF Stacked view. On the iPhone 14 Pros, if Always On screen is enabled, it will force your notifications to be stacked.

And so, it now requires additional swiping between Notification states (don’t even get me started on why *this* insane behavior exists) to get to a state where I can swipe to get to the fullscreen widgets panel.

The fact I’m writing this post to see if anyone has solved this is batsh1t insane.

EDIT: The more I fiddle the more this seems like general bugginess. Like sometimes the notifications just seem to get “stuck” as Stacked coming out of the always on screen state. Sigh. Maybe I’m one of few people who use the widgets panel alllll the darn time and so it’s driving me especially bonkers. ;)
