Stacks feature: Enable on Macbook and disable on monitor?

Hi guys,

I like the new Stacks feature that stacks all my files on the desktop. However, when connected to an external monitor, I'd like to be able to drag files over there. However since Stacks is enabled, I'm not able to drag files at all over to the monitor's desktop.

Is there a way I can have Stacks enabled for the Macbook but disabled for the monitor?
