I used to be a macOS El Capitan user in around May this year, but it was slow, it was an old OS, so I updated my 2015 iMac to the newest OS it supports: 12.1. The new OS introduced "Stacks," a feature I just found out about. Although I love Stacks, the little icons are too small. Can I make my desktop icons smaller so the stacks can fit in one "column" of my desktop? I'm into old macs, and on those you go to finder prefs and drag a slider bit I didn't see that option. Thanks for the help!

Any reason why you choose 12.1 over the latest version available 12.4? There have been a lot of bugs have been fixed between 12.1 and 12.4.

Post a picture showing up you are seeing.

Right-click the Desktop and select Show View Options for icon sizes and the like. Of course... One column stacks is to be seen once you use your Mac more often; sorting by Kind as and example.
Might get crowded over time. I've seen it myself.

Stacks are WIP as far as I'm concerned.

I still haven't learned how to properly close all Stacks if multiple Stacks are looked into and I've been using Macs for en extended period of years upon years.

Relaunching Finder helps of course. And. yes. Update.

Option-click on a stack opens all stacks or closes all stacks.
