Hey guys,

Hope you are all good.

I've bought my first Apple Watch Stainless Steel 42 back in March 2016.

I've had no problems till this Thursday As you can see in the upper right corner the screen started to get burn.

Have you seen this before?

I've been to an Apple partner (NOUMAX Romania)? They told the screen cannot be changed.
They would need to change the whole watch but since it's out of warranty it would cost me 324 $.

I guess my only option is to wait for the 4th Gen coming next month.

Any thoughts?

Thanks a lot for your time and help!

Andrei
[doublepost=1533983174][/doublepost]One week after the first picture.
The bleed is growing pretty fast :(
Hope I will make it with this watch till 21st of September, release of Apple Watch 4th edition.

How did it got in?
And in that location?
No holes close to it.

There are ports on the Apple Watch with the speaker, and crevices through the digital crown or power button area that water could intrude upon. I have no idea why it would affect that specific location, but that’s definitely water damage and _not_burn-in. That’s not what Burn-in looks like. OLED dispays are Very sensitive to moisture and water.

Eventually it will spread and short out your display.

I believe you!
But what is really strange is that the guy from the Apple service told me it cannot be water.
I've asked him twice.

The Apple store employee does not know the history of your Apple Watch like you do. Has your Watch ever been exposed to water or any type of moisture since you have owned it?

Definitely water/moisture and looks like the crystal/screen seal adhesive may have developed a small moisture breach. OLEDs are intolerant of moisture and even a small amount will destroy them so the opening could be very micro in size.

Of course it has been exposed in 2 1/2 years of use.
Several times not just once.
But why all of sudden? It worked perfectly for more than two years

Then there is your answer. It is indeed water damage. Just because your Apple Watch survived this long, doesn’t mean that water Can’t affect it at any time. Seals can break down overtime and your watch is not water resistant rated, it is IPX7 ‘splash’ resistant rated.
