Has anyone else experienced the bottom of their iPhone X discolouring?
The picture is not mine but my phone looks pretty much the same.

Stainless should not be tarnishing like that at all in that picture. If it is, then somehow it’s a defect of some sort or something caused a reaction with the metal. The stainless bands on the iPhone X/XS is surgical raw stainless.

Thanks for your reply. I thought it wasn’t common and shouldn’t have happened. I just hope it doesn’t get any worse.
I am out of my years warranty and don’t have Apple care so I doubt Apple will do anything unfortunately.

Never think that stainless steel won't stain or discolor.
It's exactly what it says it is............stain-LESS steel.

It shouldn’t be like that at all considering it has been in a case since day 1

Oil will cause that discoloration or sheen and it can be hard to wipe off once it dries up.

Just clean the phone using a mild solution and it should wipe right off.

Yes I have the exact problem of this kind of "burn mark" after few month on my iPhone XS MAX, Apple been replace my iPhone twice and its the same, and I notice that many users that faced this kind of problems have Apple case on it. Hmmm
