Standard Mountain Lion on Mac Mini server

I assume that Mountain Lion and Mountain Lion Server were just like Lion and Lion Server, with Lion Server it was just Lion with an additional "server pack" on top of it that you purchased separately. In that case, yes you can just purchase Mountain Lion and just install that and not even worry about the Mt Lion Server pack. I actually took my 2011 Base Mini with Lion pre-installed and added the Lion Server Pack, you would be doing just the opposite.
I haven't looked into Mt Lion Server (to see if it is even available yet) so the above is purely speculation.
