When my phone is in standby mode, the fullscreen photos screen always just shows the keyboard and a password field (asking me to authenticate). Seems like it won't show any photos unless the device is unlocked (which it usually isn't, when it's charging). I checked for any lock screen privacy settings relating to photos but found none. Any ideas on how I can get this to work? The screenshot I shared doesn't show the keyboard for some reason, but it's there.

I’ve been wondering about this as well. I enter my password but it always locks up again

I have this same issue. Kind of defeats the purpose and I thought Standby mode was broken before I actually swiped around and found it was just the Photos portion doing that.

I agree. Something is not right. In standby mode, one can't few photos without entering a password. FaceID will not work, probably because the phone is sitting in landscape mode, and FaceID isn't smart enough to rotate the image 90 degrees.

If its a bug its prob solved in later versions of iOS, and if the device can run iOS 17 it can run iOS 18.
