While I like the idea of StandBy mode on the phone, it seems at odds with battery health. I was under the impression that leaving a phone charging for long periods of time can contribute to quicker degradation of the battery, so with having the phone needing to be charging for StandBy mode to activate and be useful, it seems that it's not a good feature for overall battery life. Am I thinking about this wrong?

I imagine with a device that requires constant power, like a Homepod or impending Echo Show-like device from Apple, that wouldn't be a concern as it wouldn't work unplugged, but from a mobile device, I wouldn't want to negatively impact my battery just to have a sort of display feature.

Anyone else with too much time on their hands and is conflicted by this? 😅

Thinking that you're overthinking about that). The impact itself isn't that drastically.
As for me, when I'm not sober, or going somewhere – prefer to enable such feature
When inside the mansion – it's disabled. (because can't see the need for having on this all the time)
