iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Recently bought an Anker charger stand so I can use the StandBy mode.
instead of showing the time and calendar, it does this as below.
As the phone was originally set up from a backup that has been used across multiple phones and IOS updates, I decided to reset and set up from scratch.
For about a week this seemed to have worked and it was great.
Now suddenly it has started doing this each time I put it on the charging stand.
Occasionally it will show the correct display for a second or so then reverts.
I’ve tried different USB-C cables and different power plugs in case it was a power issue. Also tested without the case.

any ideas?
It just seems like it loads a test or default screen instead as the time doesn’t change at all.
just installed the latest 18.1 RC release In the hope that might have resolved, but no luck.

I have the same exact issue with my iPhone 16 Pro Max running iOS 18.3.1 (and previous version). Worked for a few days once I started using it, but now I get this same result of no data as shown in the picture - including when it transitions to night mode. It'd be a great feature if it would work. I tried cable changes including the power cable as you did; no luck. Even more strange, if you swipe left twice once Standby comes on from the screen shown above, you get a different screen version (clock in large numbers, day and temp only) that actually works. I hope the new iOS 18.3 update will fix this.
