Had an iPhone 14 Pro Max with iOS 18 and standby mode would work great, I’d wave my hand and it would wake up and display the time. Yesterday the new iPhone 16 Plus arrives, also running iOS 18 obviously and now that motion function doesn’t work. And it doesn’t appear in the Standby settings. Is that a “pro” phone only feature??

For me the “motion to wake” setting only appears if you set the standby “turn display off” setting to “automatically.”

For me, I think gently nudging my bedside table seems to count as ‘motion’.
i could be wrong. I’ve been half asleep both times this has happened 🤣

Same problem here. The iPhone 14 Pro worked fine. Motion detection in Standby was functional even with iOS 18 update. New iPhone 16 arrives and no luck regardless of messing with settings. Suspect this is a bug related to non-pro models.
