Anyone notice this?

My coworker noticed this and I confirmed it on mine too.

Try this,
1. write down your Standby usage amount,
2.turn off your iPhone with "slide to Power off"
3. wait an decent length of time (20 min-hour)
4. Turn it back on
5. Check Standby Usage

Notice that it still counts that the iPhone is in Standby mode, even when its turned off, and not just Standby!?

Sounds like it shouldn't say Standby Time, it should just say, "Time since last full charge"

Yes, I noticed this too. I left my phone off last night and this morning it said "1 day" for standby time, despite the fact it had spent >8 hours of that day turned off.

I'm not sure what this means, I guess its not that big of a deal, except it brings to question whether "turning it off" really turns it off.

An apple "genius" told me that simply turning it off will not reboot the OS on the iPhone, that the only way to do that is to do a soft reset. I would want apple to address this issue, either fixing it or clarifying how much battery is being used, even when its turned off.

Mine used to do the same thing when it was new. I did a reset (held down top button and home button until it reset) and it has been fine since then.

Try this:

Turn phone off
Take battery out
Take sim card out
Disconnect all cables inside iPhone

Then lets see if that damn counter still works.....
