The TV show Star Trek Discovery is edited on a trash can Mac Pro. Well, at least some episodes, for now during the pandemic. This is Scott Gamzon's home setup:

That big black box on the floor is a bunch of hard drives.

Crappiest table ever though. I'd be afraid to have all that gear on one of those.

Oh wow, that's surprising. A foldable table? For thousands of dollars of equipment? Seriously, all I can say is "Live long and prosper."
Obviously its a make-shift setup.

The last programme I Assisted on, was with 2012 Mac Pros. As long as you have enough memory and a fast connection to the Nexis—you're good.

I was wondering the other day if all these people suddenly required to work from home even have remotely suitable setups at home. Sure looks like it!

Chiropractors will be really really busy in a few months.

I'm only surprised that he don't have an a big no-break/UPS.

I've used Walmart tables like that before, the model that he is using I really hate it, but the one that don't fold in half is very good for a temporary setup.

At least we can see his 'desk' clearly because he did us the favour to move his aeron chair out of the picture. :D

The thing I admire most in his set up is his home - that wood inlay floor is circa 1880 . It's probably maple or oak , or both . Beautiful and expensive to restore .

I suspect like many in this situation, they were told mid-production to stop coming to work. But the show must go on. So in the middle of a production timeline he went home and put something together as quickly as he could. And it works...well enough.

25 years ago we moved to a different house. This included a small consulting business from a bedroom to a converted garage at the new place. The garage had been converted to a workshop, and had 36-in high built-in tables. Bought a drafting chair and thought I was all set. The business didn't miss a step. But after a couple of years I found it was too unfordable sitting without my feet on the floor. It took a weekend to move everything out, lower the table height, and put it all back together.

Edited on a Mac, and yet season 2 still not available in uk iTunes Store..... 🤔
Whereas dvd has been out for months.
