...In The Pirkinning.

A Finnish fan film made for no money. A parody of Star Trek, Babylon and other sci-fi (SF) shows.

Star Wreck

16.7% complete.

1342 seeds and 3134 peers. I'm only connected to 1% of all peers getting a speed of 67KB/s.

The film took 7 years to make with no budget and amateur actors, so I'm keeping my expectations low. lol. :p

Maybe Bittorrent would be a good software choice to use a bittorrent download.

ha ah, or ah ah,, even, i get it,,,

people publish links, and then the programs searches for them, and joins them up so that you download bits from lots of people, like limewire, or other sharing progs, bt this seems way better, but ive cancelled the download, cuz ive only og tan our left of the direct download,,,,,

So i take it theres a place you can search for bit torrents?

well a lot of places that have bittorrents are illegal, but some companies offer bittorrent downloads for demos, some games do. and then instances like this as well.

Duff-Man says....somewhere around this place I have a parody Star Trek book called "Star Wreck: The Generation Gap" or something like that...I bought it about a dozen years ago from the cheap bin...has some humourous stuff in it - Jean-Lucy Ricardo for one...heheheh....oh yeah!

Screen grabs...

Granted these are some of the better ones, but the visual quality of the film, which clocks in at a tremendous 1 hour 43 minutes for a fan film, varies wildly all over the place.

Here are some nice shots. The girl in the center frame is HOT!

The whole film doesn't look this hot, though. I haven't seen it in full yet. I'm not sure I want to devote 2 hours of my life. :p We'll see.

You know...

Why don't you just watch the movie, then post a review here later.

I'll just study the g.. I mean screenshot while waiting. No need to rush on my account.

That lady reminds me of a young Lynda Carter. Grrrr... ;)

There's a difference between spoofs and gag comedy - they used way too many gags - and poor ones at that.

I read somewhere - don't know the book, but it was about film making. Once section was on sci-fi and how hard it is do to it right. Sci-fi comedy was even harder and there are so few examples - the one they used, and I have to agree on this one, is Galaxy Quest. There weren't gags, but true spoofs on the genre, the fans, the overacting and silly plots. It worked great.

Star Wreck is a wreck (although I only got by the first quarter or so, couldn't handle any more).
