Start at 40 seconds into movie

I have a couple of DVD rips that i have riped using Handbrake. I noticed the other day that my copy of Casino Royale started playing but was skipping around in the first 30 seconds and then at 40 seconds it started correctly. The rest of the movie was fine. How can i get TV to just start the film at 40 seconds? Or whats an easy way to trim that part of the video file?

You could load it into iMovie, it's pretty easy to edit the movie using that

i don't have an tv, so i'm just assuming this would transfer over, but in iTunes, if you get info, and go to the options page, there is a start time option.
