Start up disk Slight of hand?

First off heres what I got. the latest 12 core (2 x 2.4 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon) Mac Pro. 64 gigs of ram (64 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 ECC) ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB running OS X 10.8.3.

I have a one T 7200 HAD and a OWC 256 SSD drive. I use the SSD as my main startup drive and the 7200 HD and back up and storage BUT when i first got this machine going I cloned the SSD to the 7200 HD.

Without me changing the start up drive, in the last 2 months 4-5 times when I started it up it started up from the 7200 HD.??????

I had to go rest the start up drive to SSD!

Whats up with that?

If you reset the PRAM, it can cause the setting loss. Not a major deal though, no damage, not a glitch, or a bug.

I have never reset the PRAM on this latest MACPRO Maybe I should
