Hello all, my first post here.

Mac mini 2012 fresh install with latest OSX,

Been working absolutely fine, whenever I’m not using it, it has been put into sleep mode. A few times though I have restarted it, and every time it has the Apple Logo with an install bar, which takes ages. Is this normal?
Once it’s complete it works fine but, I just takes 20 mins or more to start up. I haven’t had it with any other Mac I’ve owned.

Any clues as to what is happening please.

Thanks

Can you hold Alt on startup until you see the disks listed and then move the arrow key to display under the Macintosh HD partition. Hold CTRL and the arrow icon will change, then press Enter. Does that boot quicker on the next restart?

If not, please hold CMD + ALT + P + R on startup until you hear the Apple boot chime 3 times, then let go. Let me know if that does the trick.

Thank you, the CMD ALT P&R suggestion worked well, it started up a lot quicker.

I haven’t tried the 1st suggestion by pressing ALT at start up, if it has another problem I will try that also.

Kind regards.
