I have 11.6 MBA for myself

And my wife has 13.3 MBA for her.

Our boot up times are dramatically different...

Mine boots up in 11 seconds or less, but hers boot up in like 22-23 seconds.

I did reset Pram on her MBA, but it doesn't improve anything...

It used to be like less than 15 seconds. I am not sure what happened.

All I did was install updates from apple and iwork on that laptop.

Any suggestions? Help???

The obvious question: Are they both 2010 MBA's?

Personally, I find 22 seconds plenty fast already, and I rarely shutdown the MBA. So, if you're like me, why spend the time figuring out why one is slower on bootup?

Why are people so focused on boot times? Are you shutting down your computer every time you are done using it? I boot MAYBE every 2-3 weeks. Who cares if is takes 11 secs or 20 secs?

It's a MacBook Air... Especially if it's a 2010 model, just leave it in sleep. It has 30 day sleep anyway.

Do either of your Airs have dashboard items active?

Do either of them have Parallels or VMWare Fusion installed?

Were they purchased at about the same time?

Mine boots to the login menu in about 12-14 seconds. i find it convenient but not essential that when I need to restart the computer after installing some crap or the internet is acting weird or something that it takes less than 15 seconds. Sometimes Ill take advantage of it and just do it.
