I recently got my iphone a couple weeks ago. OTB 1.1.2 04.02.13_G

I went through the steps to jailbrake and activate it, downgraded to 1.1.1, then to 1.1.2, the finally to 1.1.3. Everything works perfectly on the phone, tzones, can talk with tmobile, sms etc. I was able to get my contacts and calendar into my macbook by syncing with my yahoo account. But ive never been able to sync with my iphone, it says it syncs but it doesnt, i can sync music and pictures with no problem, even podcasts, but not my contacts and my calendar.
Ive tried to troubleshoot my computer by creating a new account on my mac and then imported my contacts and calendar into the new account and then tried to sync and it worked the first time, but then stopped syncing after the first time. no changes would make it to or from the iphone.
The next issue is the installer, for some reason when i try to install programs it use to bring me back to the category list after it was finished installing, but now it brings me back to the "desktop" with the icons, and it doesnt actually install anything. ive re-installed the installer.app and it didnt change anything. im kinda frustrated with the entire situation.
My question is how can i redo the jailbreak/activation of the iphone without bricking my phone. Do i need to downgrade to 1.1.1 and start all over again? What about this new Ziphone? or the new ijailbreak? would they totally erase my phone and start over? It would be nice if i didnt have to jump through all the hoops i did the first time to get the phone working on tmobile again. I know i cant touch the baseband, so it would have to be a way that doesnt touch that.
What do you suggest the best way to accomplish this would be without killing my phone? Im hoping that by doing this it will get my syncing fixed, and im pretty sure it will fix the installer, i might have installed something that broke the installer by experimenting with different apps.
