Hello together,

i own an Imac 27" Mid 2011 which was running very well till last week.
2 years ago i put the IOS from the internal HDD to an external SSD via Thunderbolt and use the internal HDD only for Datastorage.
Last week i want to download a file and when the internal HDD wants to startup the screen went black. From then it starts with the standard sound, then the progress bar wents to the middle and then the screen is just grey and stay. Sometimes it trys to restart without success.
Apple Hardwarecheck brought up this error message : 4MOT/4/ ...................: HDD - 1243
So i replaced the internal HDD and the HDD Fan. Now there is one Error Message left, cause the system is missing the Temperature Sensor on the HDD (i replaced it with a standard and will use a software for the fan) : 4SNS/1/......: TH00-9-000
Problem with starting is still there. So i run Verbose Mode, please see picture attached.
Is there a chance to be sure if this is the very common GPU Problem on this Imacs ?
Has somebody any Tipps for me what i can check also. Rapairing with TimeMachine Backup wont work also.
Thanks
Fredi

Can you give the reason you're keeping it a secret from us?
Hello,

i disassembled the whole iMac, removed the GPU Card, put it in a oven for 8 minutes on 200/celsius, then put everything back together and now it works fine again.
Also my iMac was caught after 7 years with a broken Graphiccard.
Hope this helps ;-)
regards
Fredi

Well done Fredi, good to see your hard work rewarded. Done the same oven trick on my three imacs - still running fine after 6 months.
