Im going to get a mac and I was just wondering how long it takes an iBook to boot up. I'm used to my PC taking a couple minutes but i hear that macs are faster. Just curious.

my ibook probably takes.. 30 seconds. tops.
I would also recommend checking out the option of a refurb 14". it'll be similar price-wise to 12" but you'll get a better computer. However, expect to have a minor problem sometime soon after. My refurb had a dead power adapter for example. However... I saved 200 dollars. mmm.
(they replaced the adapter free of charge at the store.)

My Powerbook takes about a minute and 20 seconds (from pressing power to the showing of the dock).
Yeah that's what I was debating....should I get the 12" and get the 80GB HDD or get the 14" with the 60GB HDD? Since I'm going to be carrying it to class i think im going with the 12"....plus I have better than normal visionwhocares said:

Then it's a no brainer - get the 12"
let me clarify.. i have a 12" too. but if you can get the 14" refurb for the same price as 12".. might be something to consider.

Hmm, I got the 14 inch and it takes no more than 30 seconds to start up (usually less). I'd never heard about that eyesight thing but maybe its a good thing I got the 14"er cuz I'm only almost 16 and already legally blind in one eye (I can still see, just really badly, lol).
Whichever you get I hope you like it. I haven't let mine go in the 3 weeks I've had it.
