correct me if I’m wrong, but if it’s basically the same thing with the same chip, then shouldn’t the xr outperform the xs because of the lower resolution? Essentially, things should be easier to process because the screen isn’t as good.

But obviously, I’m just guessing...

Yeah, this is definitely a possibility. We’ll just have to wait for the benchmarks.

We already know that the XR will outperform the XS re: battery life, which is important to a lot of people.

In theory, of course, yes.
Do the math, maybe at first glance you wouldn't notice this:
1792x828 =1,483,776
2436×1125 = 2.740.500

Xr have Almost half of the pixels of the Xs screen
It will perform faster because of this, but like ppl said before, maybe apple lowers the A12 speed
