Status Bar is Hidden Inside Of Mail

Ever since iOS 10.0.1, I've experienced a problem where the status bar is hidden in Mail on my iPhone 7 Plus. When I swipe down to access NC, the pull-down bar appears, as if I'm in an app that hides the status bar. The area where the status bar usually resides is entirely blank.
