I recently reset all settings/data on my iPhone and I've just noticed a lag issue that I was wondering if is something specific with my install or something standard.

To recreate:

1. Please close all apps and go back to your homescreen
2. Launch an app (Safari)
3. Double click the home button to get the multi-tasking menu
4. Slide up to close Safari
**Please keep note of the status bar. On mine it loads super laggy just after the screen has focused back on the home screen.
5. Press anywhere on the screen to get back to the home screen

Am I making any sense? Anyone else have this issue? Do you not have this issue?

Nope. Does not happen with my 7Plus. No lag, no delay. Followed steps exactly as described.

Damn. I thought that would be the case. I wonder what this could stem from? Maybe since I just put everything back on it it's still indexing everything? It's weird though because I don't get any lag if I first go back to the home screen and then go back to the multitask menu and swipe up to close. I'm almost tempted to wipe it all again but I just spent a good day getting everything back on it. Don't feel like doing that again just yet.

It very well could be indexing. Depending on how much you just added to your device. Indexing typically only takes about 30-45 minutes. But can take a few hours in some instances.

I already passed those marks by a lot. Think something somewhere went wonky when it reset everything. Only possible explanation at this point.

Will try on my 7 and 6 Plus, but doubt there will be any difference

I don't have a 10.2 device
Might try to flash 10.2 on my 6s later

It does not work with 10.2.1, or your replication steps are not everything required (maybe there are some more settings or something in the background going on with your phone)

The steps are complete, if anything a couple of them are not needed. Frankly the entire phone seems to be laggy, it's not as snappy as it was before.

Oddly enough I went to the apple store and all iPhone 7/+ had the status bar lag. None of the older models did however.

I just tried it, I do see that it does happen on my device. It's not exceptionally slow though so likely I've never noticed it.

However, my iPhone went a bit crazy and I reset all settings. So that might have contributed to it. I can't recall seeing it before.

See if you can replicate the issue and record a video. Send a bug report to Apple, and they should contact you back about it (or silently fix it). Their engineers seem to be in full throttle lately.

My status bar takes a second or so to show up after tapping the home screen from the multitasking screen.
