Can anyone enlighten me on how to change the status bar so it can include a logo (beside carrier) like I've seen on several posts (apple logo, oo7 logo, etc).

I tried SupremeSettings but that only let me change the carrier text and also proved to be quite conflicting with other apps until I removed it. I'm running 3.1.2 so some older mods don't work either.

u can do it by making ur own theme, or just download one already made...i dont know the time theme name thing...lol

Are you talking about the little icons next to carrier names ?

Those are generally custom designed replacements used with Winterboard. Icon and logo are packaged together.

See example below...(click thumbnail for larger pic)

Do you have a specific name of the package to install for your exact carrier logo?

EDIT: Ok, found it. You want to install AT&T Carrier Logo from BigBoss repo.

Well it's actually the apple logo I wanted to put there and remove the text altogether. I'm in Ireland so AT&T wouldn't be my first choice!

Am i right in thinking that Make It Mine is for older firmwares?

EDIT: Scratch that, I tried MakeItMine and it works fine 3.1.2 for carrier text. Thanks for that. Any suggestions re apple logo though?

FOUND IT!

browse to /System/Library/Carrier Bundles/...

there are .png files in here that can be edited.

Thanks for your responses guys.

I just did it there and looks cool. Might edit it again to get the size right.

How would I make it into a theme? This would be nice so I could enable/disable at will...

I'm using the AT&T Carrier Logo from the BigBoss repo and converted it to a Theme as I had that same idea.

There are four images included in that tweak:

Default_CARRIER_ATT.png
Default_CARRIER_CINGULAR.png
FSO_CARRIER_ATT.png
FSO_CARRIER_CINGULAR.png

...stored here:

/System/Library/Carrier Bundles/ATT_US.bundle

Put them in a directory here:

/var/stash/Themes.xxxxx/<your_custom_theme_name>/Bundles/com.apple.ATT_US

After that, delete the original package through Cydia to put the original logo back.

Activate your custom theme in WinterBoard, then respring.

@ ckong:

Thanks a mil for that. I couldn't figure out why it wasn't working at first even after I changed the name of the carrier folder to suit, i.e. "O2_ie.bundle". I subsequently tried the latter suggestion "com.apple.O2_ie" which worked perfectly. If I had read your post properly the first time I would have noticed the difference and saved myself hours of confusion!

Is there an Apple .png file that you can edit there? Can you give some insight on how you did this, I'm actually wanting to do the exact same thing. :)

Thanks!
