iPhone Status bar notification icons

I'm wondering if there are any tweaks that will display status bar icons for notifications currently in notification center. I'm using LockInfo which displays status bar icons but they're for unread items, not items in the notification center (i.e. they don't clear when removing an item from the notification center, you have to mark the item as read). An example of a use case I'd like to support is as follows: email arrives, is visible in notification center and there's a status bar icon. I then view the notification in notification center and clear it without marking the email read and would like the status bar icon to clear at this point.

My goal is to be able to look at the status bar and use it as a way to tell if I have any new notifications I haven't seen yet.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hey Martin...IntelliscreenX does this. Once you clear a notification from the NC, it clears the status bar icons too (it has it's own icons for the status bar).

Open Notifier is also good for Status bar notifications.

Check in Settings/Lockinfo/Plugins/Mail

scroll down the menu

enable preview message

default action preview message

Previews:
enable Mark Message Read

That should remove the statusbar icon when looking at the preview

I'm confused lol. Did you accidentally quote my post? I have Lockinfo set up exactly how I want it set up. I was just suggesting to the OP that Lockinfo does exactly what he's asking.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Unfortunately most of the suggestions are not what I'm looking for. LockInfo will clear the status bar icon only by marking the message read. This is not what I want. I want to be able to clear the status bar icon and notification from notification center but leave the message in unread status (like Android). I realize this may appear strange but it happens to support the way I work the best. Tried IntelliscreenX and it appears to handle this the same way.

Any other ideas?

OpenNotifier. Best tweak for status stuff. Hope that helped

Question for whoever is using OpenNotifier:

I see that the notification icons are appearing for most of the apps but not for few.

For example for whatever reason I don't see any icon for ESPNScorecente and Ebay. I tried to set the pseudo badges as recommended in one forum but sitll it does not work.

BTW I have iPhone 4S and iOS 5.1.1.

Pseudo badges aren't working on 5.1.1 right now
Too bad cause I use instagram & I don't check my NC all the time...
