iPhone Status Bar visible while viewing a video

Apologies if this has already been discussed in a bug/performance thread.

Is anyone else having issues with the status bar being visible while viewing a video? It occurs at random times and it's very annoying to see. Currently running iOS 9.2 and I've noticed this bug/issue in prior version of iOS as well.

Is there a fix for this, is it an app based issue such as viewing videos from Facebook or something similar or is this a known bug? Here's a screenshot I took while viewing a video from a link in Facebook:

This is not a bug, nor is it random. This is a feature since iOS 9. The battery indicator remains present if either low power mode (yellow) is on or the battery is in critical level (red).

Sorry but I'm not referring to the battery, I'm referring to the status bar with the time and reception bar (can't see but is there).
