Status notifier keeps showing 2 alerts for every text message

I know there is an icon for text and a separate alert for IM, but every time I get a text, both icons pop up. Kind of annoying. Anyone know how to stop this or is it a bug?

my buddy jailbroke his iPhone 4 with the jailbreakme hack and he is having similar issues. Have you tried restarting your iPhone?

I got it. Turns out that bitesms has its own icon that doesn't appear to have an option to turn off so I left that one and just turned off statusnotifier's alert for SMS. Thanks for the reply regardless

status notifier was finally updated for ios 4? i don't see this in cydia at all.
