Stay signed in to iCloud

Hi,

I'm trying understand iCloud and have a couple of questions.

1) Should I stay permanently signed into iCloud on all devices and is this safe to do so?

2) Is it a good idea to use the same sign in password on my Macbook as my iCloud sign in?

As long as your password is 25 characters long or longer. ( of mixed letters upper and lower, numbers and symbols) it shouldn't be a problem. I would suggest you turn on two-step verification with your Apple account as well.

Using a password manager would be a smart and practical way to keep up with having such complex passwords on websites as well as your Apple device and iCloud account.

I have spent most of the weekend browsing this forum and various security oriented sites and the concept, use and possible mishaps of the cloud is gaining clarity.

On reading your advice I did a little more research and ventured to purchase 1password, which I intend to fully explore later today. I have also read the documentation concerning two-step verification and find it to be such an obvious security step to overlook. It seems that security is becoming more and more of a concern of late and I really appreciate you guiding me in the right direction to get the basics right.
