I was wondering...

If you could go to the future and get some technology to bring home what would it be?

Iron man suit?...
Most advanced weapon?...
Apples transformer (changes into anything you want :p )
a fusion Battery (an equilibrium reaction, 100% efficient and never stops, power forever!)

Go on... Dream up some technology you would get!

But travel into the future's the easy part, it's going back in time that's the trick.

V= V1+V2/ 1-((V1*V2)/c^2)
Unless you can input c+ velocities you're not going backwards.

That's what we were talking about in physics the other day, No-one knows how to travel backwards in time... Even if we could go to the future its a one way journey, no way to come back.
If you travel faster than the speed of light people have theories that you will go forward in time (or time will alter in some way), or it could be anything but say that was right, what speed/ how would you return...

A cure to AIDs hey... I went to Nigeria with a handful of people to teach sports, improve their learning and teach them arts (my part :p ). AIDs is from the depths of hell itself.....

Theory apparently predicts that if and when you cross the speed of light you will immediately accelerate towards 2c. Imagine the curve of energy required to accelerate a mass up to c (ie: an exponential graph), mirror that graph over c to 2c.

Now, when you do decide to cross this barrier, make sure you pack enough fuel for the deceleration.

I'd would get the AIO device, it has the following: printer, computer, multi touch, WiMax, DLSR camera, 7.1 speakers, cell phone and bluetooth. all designed to fit in an iPhone form factor. ;D

Id get documented evidence of how much we have screwed up the planet. I doubt world leaders would head this warning, but at least Id sleep soundly knowing I had tried.

i would pick up the plans for the current processor technology and fabrication. I would take it to 1985 it's benefits would excel information technology then when i do it again i would return with the development that led from in for today.
