I just read about the new AppStore guidelines that got published and am thoroughly confused about the whole thing.

Can someone explain to me (1) why the Steam app is an approved app under the old rules (and presumably the new) despite its in-app Steam Store interface that allows individual purchases? From my understanding this is hosted directly within the app interface and is generated by the app.

On the other hand the Steam Link application is a remote desktop app that hosts a storefront remotely;(2) how is it that the app with a built-in game store is allowed while the app remote hosting one is rejected?

Side question: Is Apple also effectively taking 30% out of every game sale made through the Steam app?
