Steam Benevolence/Fear DLC

So i bought Fear 2 Reborn the other day (the dlc) and every time i got to a new load screen in a level it would take me back to the main menu. I couldn't get past it. I sent Steam a question or whatever they call it. After three days they finally answered. There answer was pretty irrelevant to what I said. They said I had asked for a refund and gave me one. Then they told me my refund was a one time deal. After that I was told how to play Fear 2 by clicking it and selecting play or something useless. I think its pretty cool that I got my money back AND get to keep the DLC though. Now if I can get it to work... any ideas?
