After downloading steam, whenever I try to open it, it says "Steam Fatal Error: Could not create directory: /Applications/Steam.app/Contents/MacOS."

I don't think it has anything to do with the coding because it worked earlier today. I'm using a school computer (sadly) that often tries to delete applications off our laptops.

How could I undo this and make steam work again? Help is appreciated, thanks!

By school computer, do you mean one given to you by the school, or one that's available in the library for everyone to use? If it's the latter, chances are good they've since set up application restrictions to keep to keep people from using it for anything other than its intended purpose.

It sounds like a permissions issue or rights. Install it to your home folder and run it from there. That said I suspect they don't want you using Steam on school machines :)
