I have been playing Half-Life 2 using BootCamp for a while now, but Steam games are the ONLY thing I use BootCamp for. I would prefer to be able to use Mac to play Half-Life 2, because then I wouldn't need to restart it all the time.

So I installed CrossOver, ran the Steam installer under supported applications, and downloaded Half-Life 2.

Though whenever I try and play it, this message comes up:

I click "Continue Anyway" and it runs fine at first. Valve logo comes up with a creepy guy with a valve in his eye. And then it starts loading the main menu. After it loads, it just crashes. No errors at all, just a sudden crash.

Can anyone tell me what is wrong? I tried running Half-Life 2 with the launch options:

-dxlevel 81

I saw that in a forum, and I was desperate to do anything. I just made an account here because I never usually run into problems on my Macs. Any help?

If it helps any, I am using:

ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro

What version of CrossOver? Are you using CrossOver Games? Did you install Steam per the wizard in CrossOver Games?

Have you checked the CodeWeavers Compatibility page for Half-Life 2?

Half-Life 2, and other Steam games using the same engine, are in the category of officially supported applications by CodeWeavers so if you're using the latest CrossOver Games and installed Steam via the wizard you should contact CodeWeavers Technical Support.

Woops, I am using an old version of CrossOver. I will try a newer version and see if that works.
