Hello Everyone!

So Ive had Steam on my Mac for a while now and its been great, all the games run really well and its just awesome.

More than anything ive been playing Amnesia The Dark Decent and it runs great on high settings.

Not to long ago I had to make a partition of 70GB to install Windows 7 for work related reasons. So run windows through bootcamp and occasionally through VMware Fusion.

It had been a while since i really played anything on Steam and when I went to go play today the game bogs down to a crawl even from the main menu.

Does having windows on my machine eat of memory?

Is there anyway to regulate how much memory is used?

I dont have windows running in the VM while Im playing so I don't see why its running slow. To me it seems like having winodws on here is the problem.

Any suggestions or tips on how to fix my problem?

When the MacOS is running, Windows is dead and vice a versa. They should not impact one another, however I am no expert at this so maybe one will appear. :) Is your Mac partition near capacity? I assume you have lots of RAM.

Windows (as long as your VM isn't running) is not the problem. It's something else. Open activity monitor and see what's eating at your CPU. Memory management in OS X is done automatically, you don't need to do anything.
