so heres a theoretical. say i buy the original civ 4 game on steam for 19.99. then decide i want all expansion packs and buy the complete set for 39.99. will my total purchase be 39.99 or 59.98. so will i have to repay for the original game? Anyone ever run into a situation like this and if so what happened?

The bright side is if you do buy it twice, a lot of publisher's allow you to "gift" the second game to another Steam user.
