I remember a long time ago a thread (which I cannot find now) where people debated what computer Steve had on his desk; what setup he went with.

Checking out he photos in his bio book, the debate is settled - he was a PowerMac/MacPro guy, (with the 30" display).

Guess he could've swapped out something smaller (MBP..?) in latter years, but I'm picking he liked his large screen, and POWER image.

Was surprised by how cluttered/messy his desk was, (looks all too much like my shambles).

Would love to see the pic you are referring to , if you would be so kind as to post it up, or supply a link.

TIA

The 30inch matte display is a fantastic monitor. Wish I had me one of those.

Good to now u can run a multi billion pound company off a insanely messy desk!

Here's o the messy ones, the lazy ones

I think 'old school' when I see this pic 'mad inventor / professor'

Cool. I always wondered whether he'd have a Mac Pro or an outspecced iMac. ;) I confess I did think he'd have an Air too maybe. But the desktops are proper old school. :D :D

of course he would use a Mac Pro ... just like the CEO of Ford ... I doubt drives an Escort.

makes sense Steve would use the best Apple makes :apple:

Anyone busy doesn't have time to clean their desk.

My desk looks the same but I know where everything is. If someone tidied it for me I'd be in trouble!

I remember seeing those photos of his office and feeling a mixture of surprise and pleasure upon discovering that he was a bit of a fellow clutter monkey too! :D

Somewhat paradoxically, I love clear desk space and hate clutter but it somehow seems to develop in any space I occupy. Even when I try not to let it. Most of the time, like DeeEss, I know where things are.. not always though.

Tell me bout it. That process is completely unavoidable. It even has a name. It's called entropy and is one of the reasons we can't travel back in time.

Look at this mini Power Mac G5 !

What sub/speaker system has he got?

And wow - check out (what looks like) all those holistic tinctures on the left (second shelf down) along with other supplements, stack at far left. (Personally I'm all for natural therapies - so long as there's good reliable evidence to support them.)

What about all those Harmonicas !

Steve obviously played Harmonica (I know he played guitar) he must have been pretty good as in that first desk photo he has loads of different keys.

....... and Genelec monitors, Steve was a musician !

I noticed a old Sony vx2000 dv cam pro camcorder and tripod ... Hmm some home made movies going on... - clearly a creative genius, fitting

The minute mac pro looks like a dummy model? Something jinny I've made as a joke / for s's n giggles

Not true! i am extremism busy and my desk is clean. I think it has to do with personality

They are Genelec speakers but i don't think they still make that model anymore.

Yes. That's an old Genelec 1029A. I use 8030A - amazing sound quality :)

He always loved Sony cameras. He even invited Sony CEO to the keynote one time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsKKQNZG3rE

What a disappointment. Always envisioned a perfectly organized and clean work area, maybe with an experimental model or two that he would play with.

And of course a man of science playing with worthless "health" aides sold by criminals who prey on the desperate or silly.

"Sent from my iPhone"...ha, he could never find it.

At the time that these pics were taken, the PowerMacs were much faster than the iMacs or laptops - they weren't really an option for any 'power user'

In the later years, i reckon he ditched the 'big boxes'
