That Apple released a week ago? Hope not, would be pretty unspecial?!

If he cracked it he would have starting selling his idea when HDTV was taking off. Now most of the TV manufacturers are losing a lot of money in an over saturated market. "Cracking" it now is futile.

I'd like to think Jobs was referring how content is packaged and delivered to the viewer on a TV, rather than reinventing the screen. The AppleTV we have now still has a "hobby" feel to it.

He might have cracked it, but it doesn't mean he got past the problem of the lack of standard and the content providers' unwillingness to cooperate with Apple. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pSfOKMEbG0

While I'm sure someone is proud of the new Apple TV interface, I hope they decide they've come up with something better. It looks cluttered.

Indeed. I stopped by apple/feedback the other day to let them know what I thought of the new UI, in a constructive way of course.
