Because some of use see past the material that Apple sell and look beyond into what they stand for as a human entity... Can you think of anyone who works like apple on such a scale?
Human entity? He was a salesman for tablets and phones, and over priced computers. ( Don't hate, I love my iMac, but I can't believe I blew 3 grand on it ) Apple is a giant company, they stand to make money. Thats it.
I guess it depends in your own views of life and personality how these things affect you... Try looking beyond a "purchase" and into the values of the people behind it.
Maybe for some people, for me. He was selling a tablet, I already had one. It just wasn't made of metal and glass.
If you have nothing positive to say about a dead man who changed millions of lives, then don't bother posting at all.
I own Apple Products, and I have for a long time. And I am free to state my opinion on anything apple related. If you have an issue with me not worshiping Steve jobs, talk to the Mods. I'm not saying he was a bad guy or anything, but he didn't change millions of life, in any other way than making it easier to play touch games and broswe the web on the pooper. Which is what I use my ipad for
( just picked up an iPad 3 a few weeks ago, great pooper/couch device )
Also, whilst I appreciate the work of ford, they don't inspire the way I work or the things I do, nor is it as relevant as much in this decade as it was back then. I think it's great they allowed their workers to actually afford their products, something Chinese workers will probably be we get... I'm not trying to turn this into a political debate, I just wanted a photo!
What I am trying to get at it, is the Steve Jobs/Apple never really changed the world as we know it, they just introudced some very nice products that are very popular.
People like Henry Ford? He developed the model T himself, with a small group of people, saw the Mass Production line at the meat packing plant, did all the grunt work himself, and bourght us the Mass Produced car, no other car maker at the time had anything like it, so they all copied him, this led to mass produced cars and trucks, which led to massive road networks, which let people be mobile, it literally changed the lives of everyone in the entire world, in a MUCH bigger way than an iPad did.
Tesla? Invented and helped build the very power network that the entire world runs on.
I'm not saying steve jobs didn't change some things, he did. And he did put products into the hands of the consumer that might have taken longer to take off. I just don't think he deserves to be compared to people like Henry Ford and Tesla.
And I think its silly that anyone would keep a picture of him in their house. Outside of the book. He wans't your family, you didn't know him, and he didn't know you.
If a tablet made of glass and a metal phone really change your life that much, go for it. No judgement here, I just think its creepy.
I've used Windows for my work tasks pretty much my entire life, as a kid, in school, and in my career. Windows has been VERY helpful to me. It doesn't mean I'm gonna put a picture of Bill Gates on my phones lock screen, or a frame on my desk.
