Steve Job's Successor

I don't get why people are so upset when Steve leaves Apple. As Steve said in his 2005 Stanford commencement. He's talking about death there. But for me, it means the same for when he leaves Apple. Why?

Beause Steve said then, that death is the single best invention of life. A way, to clear the old, and make way for the new. And that is as it should be.

And I think he's right. Under Steve, Apple is a sort of company that has his spirit, and his way of thinking. But to make way for a new way of thinking, and that is neccesary, the old has to be cleared. In this way, Steve.

I'm not saying Steve should be leaving anytime soon, because I love the way he rules Apple, and how he invents, and pushes the tech world forward, in new and innovative ways. But when he has to go, it's just the time for that then, and the new will come in. Which will bring other, innovative things.

Just kidding. Of course Steve has to go some time, but I do hope that when that day comes, he will have groomed a successor worthy of his legacy. I vote Ive.

Personally, I'd rather Jonathan Ive stayed doing what he loves, rather than being CEO, pressing flesh at boardroom level... some people know what they're good at.

I think so too. Ive isn't exactly the man to do this work, and he should keep it to the designing. I think Cook would do better.

I know Ive isn't the best in dealing with the masses, but somehow, I see him as more visionary than Tim Cook. No disrespect to Cook, but I find him to be rather un-Steve.

It'll be Oppenheimer or Cook. (Cook spoke with real fire last week, he sounds like a man who could drive the company).

I think Jonathan Ive came out when the first Intel iMac was revealed.

Whoever takes over has got to have that same kind of RDF Jobs has.
