Hey Guys!

So I just got an iPad Mini with RD for Christmas, and I just bought what I think is the best coverage for the back of the iPad Mini, the Sticker Boy Extreme Fit iPad Mini leather series.

Does anyone have any experience with installing this? I will be receiving this in a few days and there's no installation video on the website.

I will also be following up with a review!

I love the faux leather skins. I really like the white and would purchase if they had the matching cover skins to go with it but so far they don't appear to be available.

I think you can find some videos that show just putting the back on similar to a screen protector - peeling down the backing as you go and aligning the cutouts with the holes. Then if you get the type with the side coverage, you need to use a hair dryer to soften the edges before forming them down around the sides. I don't have this brand but do have the Bodyguardz and the install was so much easier than a screen protector. Easy, peasy.

I contacted Sticker Boy and they were kind enough to upload a youtube video on installation instructions. Even in the installation videos these guys had difficulties installing without wrinkles.

Ok so I just made my attempt at installing the Exteme Fit. I cannot install this product without large wrinkles. I have heated it to the point of non-stick. It's VERY DIFFICULT, they weren't lying when they said it's a 1/10 install success rate.

I learned my lesson the hard way. Going to have to re-order for the EASY Extreme Fit.

Having said all of that, the Leather skin is very nice, adds a very good grip to the product, and will prevent against scratches nicely. It does not, however, cover the chamfered edges of the iPad. Another thing to note.

Edit: Also wanted to add that the leather series does pick up on skin oils and needs to be cleaned every now and again.

I have not used the Extreme Fit skins from sticker boy, but I have used the regular skins on my iPhone 4S and on my MacBook Air. For both devices, the installation was quite easy and the skins were perfectly cut to fit. The skins are also quite durable... I had the leather skins on my iPhone for 2 years and they looked nearly like new.

If you are interested in top quality skins, I would recommend purchasing from him without hesitation. Great products and service.

I had the same experience with easy extreme fit for iPad Air. I am on the second on now, it is even worse than my first try. In my opinion it is impossible to achieve wrinkle free corners. I have one last set left (because I got angry and bought two sets after the first attempt), I think I'll hold off and just get the type one skin, which covers a little less area around the edges, but it must be a lot easier to install/apply.

I pulled off my perfectly fine Bodyguardz carbon fiber skin to install the faux leather Sticker Boy skin. It went on perfectly easy and the cut-outs were aligned perfectly. Here's where the lovefest ended. No matter what I did, I could not make the edges stay down. I tried pushing and pushing and then I tried the dryer. Heated the edges would lay down and then once they cooled they lifted right back up again. There was no issue with the iPad being clean. I had cleaned it very carefully and fully wiped it down before the install. So I pulled it up and put another Bodyguardz skin on the back. Again, no problem with the Bodyguardz sticking.

Very disappointed with the product and even more frustrated with the customer service. I had purchased a spare skin from Sticker Boy as well as cover skins. I e-mailed them to tell of the problem I had with not been able to use their product due to the edges not adhering. So I requested to return the unused, still in package back skin and cover skins. Sure I can return them - with no refund on shipping (not such a big deal) but a whopping 25% restocking fee!

So anyway, I'm not giving them the satisfaction to make an additional 25% on the resell my return. Anyone interested in a free iPad Air white faux leather skin and matching Smart Cover skins? PM me if you are.

Terrible product! Worse customer service!

That's disappointing... Which "type" or fit did you order from them? I'm thinking of going with a skin, but I really really really don't want "carbon fiber" and hate the fact that the skin market is littered with them. The reason I was thinking Sticker Boy was because of the options they have. Bodyguardz has a non "carbon fiber" series, but can't stand the Easter color options.

Lucky Skins has a cool two tone option that you can do with wood (or carbon). There are other skin options out there, but most do carbon fiber, wood, or leather whereas I just want a solid matte color. I have found a few that do it, but none of them have had the color/shade I am looking for.

I ordered both the regular fit and extreme. The regular fit is the one I had the problem with. I have the extreme fit and will give it away. I'd rather do that than have them make an additional 25% off me.

I have the white carbon fiber and am happy enough with it although would have preferred the Bodyguardz solid back in plain white if they had it for the Air.

I agree. If not impossible than damn near impossible. I've had Sticker Boy skins before and I've always gotten frustrated with them. I don't think it's Sticker Boys fault - just the nature of the beast.
