I don’t know why Apple still has the input lag almost everywhere in iOS!
It’s so annoying and drives me crazy. They introduced it with iOS 7 and haven’t fixed it since then.
During the WWDC an engineer even held a keynote where he said that they focus on improving the animations without input lag.
Best example is when you open a link in background in Safari on iPhone. The link “flies” to the lower right corner and during this animation you cannot do anything at all. No scrolling, no pressing, nothing.
I already reported it several times but apparently apple don’t give a damn.
